History of Poland around the World War 2 period-
The leader of Poland during world war 2 was Stanisław Mikołajczyk. When Sikorski was killed in a plane crash. He was then his successor and became the Prime Minister.
Most of the story took place in the Lodz Ghetto in Poland. Łódź is the second largest city in Poland in terms of population and the fourth in terms of the size. The area around is Lodz is mostly trees and plains.
Lodz was changed dramatically when Hitler came. All the Jews were placed in ghettos and those who didn’t comply were killed. Later the Jews were taken away to concentration and death camps to get rid of them.
The other part of the story took place in Auschwitz, Poland. Auschwitz is a very depressing place full of death disease and Germans, who kill and/or abuse the Jews. Auschwitz is surrounded by grass plains.
