Literary analysis-
Protagonist- Riva and her younger brothers. They help keep many jews alive and stayed in the Lodz ghetto for as long as they could
Antagonist- Nazis because they are trying to find ways to kill them and get them into concentration camps
When/where story takes place- 1939- end of war. It mostly takes place in the Lodz Ghetto but it also takes place in Auschwitz.
Mood- They were really sad and wanted to get revenge on the nazis for killing so many jews.
Explain internal conflict- Was how she was wondering why the nazis were so bad and if their main guard who had decided to help her when she was sick and allow her to do poetry for her jew group.
Explain external conflict- was staying alive while in the Lodz ghetto and not being captured while also staying alive in Auschwitz and making sure her friends and the other jews still had high morale
Climax of story and how i know- the climax was when Auschwitz was finally liberated and the russians found them. She was finally able to go home and able to be free and even though she didn’t go to the US immediately she ended up going there with her friends where she lived happily.
Falling action+resolution- Falling action was when Riva was getting better and nothing was really happening to her and her friends and the resolution was when the russians saved them.
